The Roving "I"

DAYDREAMINGIN THE DIGITAL AGE

Probably a lot of things (ego, jenius, beauty) but the proximal answer is that they randomly jostled for attention in my twitter feed during a frantic few seconds this winter, each idea a portal to a milllion more. what if we could harness the associative nature of our own minds as we do the chaos of the twitterverse? after all, our thoughts are as enticing, entriching, and infuriating as any in the social media wormhole.some would say that we do tap such powers in the simple, analog act of leting our minds wander. Dayddreams are a retreat from the demands of the external environment, a conduit not just to creativity but also to self-knowledge, as you'll discover in "dreams of glory". And where introspective daydreams open the door to self-knowledge, personal intellegence decodes that imformation and puts it to good use. As defined by psychologist John D. Mayer, personal intellegence is the ability to think cogently about personality and one's goals. Mayer introduces readers to this concept in "know thyself". the ultimate goal is to better understand our place in the universe of human beings and, more recently, of 0s and 1s.
